Premature babies inside a New York hospital are becoming dolled up for Halloween, because of a nurse who put her crochet talents to get affordable use.
Nurse Katie Windsor, who works within the Catawba Valley Clinic neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), made the decision to mix her passion for crocheting together with her passion for nursing. Windsor and her mother produced small Halloween outfits, from Superman to Yoda, and introduced them set for the preemies within the unit.
Two babies got “The Exorcist”-inspired Princess Leia and Yoda costumes, one was changed into a mermaid, while another looked adorable outfitted like a chicken.
Windsor stated she desired to bring a feeling of normalcy towards the NICU, where parents are frequently stressed.

A barely three-pound premie named Phoenix donned Windsor’s favorite crocheted costume — Princess Belle from “Beauty and also the Animal.”
